Chapter 3

Present Day:

Nicki stood in her office day dreaming of her ex best friend. They hadn’t really talk since the big fall out at the after party. She was nervous because their 10 year High School Reunion was coming up in a week and didn’t know what to expect if and when she saw him. What if he’s some fat slouch or some fine piece of ass? Will he remember me? Is he still mad at me? God, I’m a wreck. She jumped hearing a knock at the door.

“Come in.”

“Ms. Maraj you have a call on line 2.”

“Line 2 who’s on my first line.”

“I’ll check ma’am.”

“You do that Melissa.”

She rushed to the phone and answered to a small voice. She smiled hearing the voice on the other end. She loved hearing this voice daily, only man in her life that made her want to come home & give him kisses until he told her to stop, only man that made her smile and only one in her life.

“Mommy when are you coming home? Nancy told me you’ll be home in an hour, but you aren’t here.”

She smiled knowing that Nancy had probably told him 20min ago, but he had it in his mine that, that was an hour.

“Give me another hour & I’ll be home with a new toy for you & hot wings, Deal?”

“Deal! Deal! Deal!”

“I miss you mommy’s man!”

“I miss you too mommy! Nancy keeps cleaning my room.”

She laughed at him sounding aggravated. She sat on the edge of the desk and listened to his complaining of a clean room. She was hardly listening her mind was else where.

“Baby, which outfit do you like best?”

“Which one do you like most?”

“I like them both. Please just tell me which do you like?”

He looked them over and shook his head. Why does she think I care what she puts on? As long as we look good together and she stays cute then it don’t matter what she throw on. Hell, she can go out naked with a body like her’s. He stood behind her and kissed her neck and ran his hands all over her body.

“Faree, choose now. We need to be the cutest couple at the reunion.”

“We already look good, outfits don’t make us.”

“I know, but I still want to look good.”

She pushed him off and pointed to the clothes on the bed. She couldn’t wait until this day. She was ready to see everyone and how they turned out. Only one more week. She wiped her make-up off and pulled her hair back in a bun. She looked over her skin and nails as she washed her face.

“Go with the green outfit. I like the skirt.”

“Thank you.”

“Yeah, I’ll be back I have some business to handle before the reunion.”

“What type of business?”

“Make sure the food and drinks are good, since you offered we pay for it.”

“We can afford it, so why not?”

“True.”

“Well go handle it.”
